The elastic allows the AR15 or other weapon to be carried close to the body and still maintain the ability to quickly shoulder the weapon when needed. The one point bungie sling allows a more natural and dynamic pivoting point for your AR-15. It also reduces the amount of sling that will interfere with the weapon functions.
