The traditional direct impingement system blows hot gasses and carbon into the action of your weapon making it hot, dirty, and unreliable. The primary function of the PWS Piston system is divert these gasses and carbon away from the receiver keeping the system cool and clean and functional. The most important difference between the PWS system and others on the market is that our operating rod is attached to the carrier resulting in a smoother recoil, the ability to use a lighter weight piston and most importantly, no loss in accuracy! The installation of the system will be done within a 3 week period after the customer's upper is received. Currently our retro-fit system will fit under the following hand guards: The top of the handguard must not protrude past the gas block. Handguards that extend past the sides and bottom are acceptable. * this system is only for the AR15 series rifle in .223/5.56, 5.45, 7.62x39, or 6.5, 6.8SPC. We will not install it on other calibers.
