Product Description

Like all CASV systems, the CASV-M relies on "piggy-back" mounting to the top of a “flat-top” M4 or M16A4 upper receiver. This chassis features a removable lower handguard, which allows the access of an M203 grenade launcher. The smooth body construction allows multiple rail mounting points, adaptable to any mission needs. All CASV-M Kits come with two 2”, two 4”, one 6”  and one top filler rail sections and hardware.

The CASV-M is designed to accomodate a mid-length gas system rifles as a drop on replacement handguard. Taking from the same battle proven design as the CASV-EL, the new CASV-M is extended to fit the common midlength or 9” handguard design. The CASV-M works great with a Carbine Length gas system to provide a concealed gas block look. However, a low profile gas block must be used such as the VLTOR GB-2S, YHM-9383, YHM-9384, YHM-9378, or Midwest LPG.

The CASV-M features a removable lower handguard section and removable rail sections. The area forward of the top rail can be filled with a short rail to mount any same plane front flip iron sight such as the Midwest FFR or YHM QDS, or used to mount the optional VLTOR flip-up sight assembly.

Like all CASVs, the CASV-M relies on the use of on the Delta Ring for a more secure mounting point. Vltor does not recommend that any CASV handguard be used without the standard Delta Ring assembly.

This CASV chassis is made entirely of aluminum with exception to the stainless steel mounting hardware. After mounted, the CASV-M adds less than 1lb (14.3 oz /406g, without mounted rail sections) to the firearm's overall weight and features a QD sling swivel socket on the left and right sides.  Like the CASV-EL, the CASV-M is offered in the following colors: Black, Foliage Green and Flat Dark Earth (tan).

**Optional product: CASV-M Flip-up Front Sight (part # CAS-FS). When using a low-profile gas block or a gas block without iron sights, the CASV-M will accept a specially designed flip-up front iron sight that mounts to the upper forward portion of the CASV-M chassis. This is ideal for any short barrel and/or short gas system. This front sight system comes with all mounting hardware and retails for $69.95.

Installation note: The installation of this CASV Chassis does not require any modifications to the firearm, unless the installer intends to mount the CASV-M on a Carbine Length (or shorter) gas system. In that case, a low-profile gas system must be used to fit properly underneath this CASV chassis system.
