Phase 5 AR15 Bolt Carrier Upgrade to Slick Electroless Nickel
THIS IS A PHASE 5 AUTHORIZED SALE - DUE TO DISCONTINUANCE OF OLD LOGO STYLED PART - ONCE THEY'RE GONE, YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO GET AGAIN! Thanks to N Baker for the installation example pic!!
The Phase 5™ electroless nickel (EN) coated bolt carrier features heat-treated Nickel coating inside and out for improved resistance to wear and corrosion. The EN plated Bolt Carriers enhances reliability, lessens cleaning time, and has a slick sleek finish to minimize required bolt lubrication. These Bolt Carriers come stripped with two Gas Key Screws (no Gas Key or Bolt) and would make an awesome upgrade to your existing semi auto milspec phosphated AR-15 BCG. You will receive the carrier and can then put on your gas key (if a new one is not added as an option), and your bolt, cam, firing pin and cotter pin to complete.
- EN plated bolt carrier, heat treated & hardened.
- Grade 8 hardened fasteners
Cleaning is minimal, usually requiring only a soft cloth. Permits firing for longer periods of time between cleaning, as dirt and powder residue has no wet or oily surface to cling to. EN provides a high lubricity and low friction co-efficient, greatly increasing the life expectancy of a firearm due to reduced friction wear.
What is Electroless Nickel Plating (EN)?
Electroless Nickel Plating (EN) is an auto-catalytic chemical technique used to deposit a layer of nickel-phosphorus or nickel-boron alloy on a solid workpiece, such as metal or plastic. Electroless nickel plating is an auto-catalytic reaction used to deposit a coating of nickel on a substrate. Unlike electroplating, it is not necessary to pass an electric current through the solution to form a deposit. This plating technique is to prevent corrosion and wear. EN electroless nickel plating has several advantages versus electroplating, it provides an even deposit regardless of workpiece geometry, and with the proper per-plate catalyst, can deposit on non-conductive surfaces.
